Hey Everyone!

A soldier - Steven Schonert, brother-in-law to my daughter Nicole Pope Schonert, is in the heavy fighting area  of Iraq. It is reported that he has not emailed in I believe three days now. Please! This family would appreciate prayers.

Dear Ones, we are asking for prayers on behalf of Jim & Nancy Carlisle from the First Primitive Baptist Church of Dallas.

Jim is currently undergoing a new chemotherapy for his cancer, which at first appeared to have promising results - but they have learned the cancer is continuing to spread.  An MRI last week revealed that there is now a malignancy in his thigh bone, just behind his knee.  They intend to start radiation on this next week.

Also, Jim's mother is currently in the hospital with fluid in her lungs.  There is concern this could be pneumonia.  She was hospitalized a couple of weeks ago after suffering what they thought was a mild heart attack, which caused her to fall and crack a rib or ribs, and apparently she was also diagnosed at the time with congestive heart failure.  She is also stricken with Alzheimer's, which continues to deteriorate her condition.

Please be in prayer for the Carlisle family during this most difficult time.  We know that God is able to grant them all which they stand in need of.

Keith,

We got the results from Bill’s kidney biopsy. It is bad news, good news, bad news, good news:

Bad: They found a cancerous tumor in his left kidney. (Renal Cell Carcinoma – per Doctor it is Transitional Cell Carcinoma)

Good: It is a Stage I T1 cancer and has not metastasized (spread) to his lymph nodes or liver (they are clear).

Bad: The tumor is in the middle of his kidney so the only course of action is to remove the entire kidney.

Good: This should be the only course of action, not chemo or radiation. Once the kidney is removed there will be no more cancer.

He will be having the surgery in the next couple of weeks, date still to be determined (looking at possibly the 22nd of June). It will be minimally invasive surgery, there will be three incisions, one for the scope, one for the instruments and the removal of the kidney will be via the belly button. He will only require a one to two day stay in the hospital. He will be off work for about three weeks.

They will be keeping a close eye on him for the next seven years. He will have a CT scan about every 6 months initially and if they are clear after three years then only need one annually.

Please pray.

Teresa

I ask that you please pray for my son Keith. He visited the Dr. Saturday and there were some medical conditions discovered that could turn out to be serious. I ask that The Great Physician be summoned to guide the earthly physicians decisions and actions.

Dear Elder Ellis,

I know that you are very busy so I will make this as brief as possible. Please feel free to pass this on to any other elder or member of the congregation.

My wife and I have been living in Pittsburgh since 1982. I grew up here but after my conversion in 1971 I lived in Europe and Africa. My wife and I met and married while we were at a Bible School over seas.

While reading your Articles of Faith and I was particularly attracted to the paragraph underneath titled Attendance.   Adherence to God’s Word is of the upmost importance to my wife and I. Fellowship is of particular concern to us.   Since coming back to the United States we have gone to great lengths to find somewhere to fellowship with God’s people without sacrificing the truth as it is in Jesus.  We have been without regular fellowship now for some time.

For various reasons I started looking for a new job about four months ago.  It soon became obvious that God was intervening in an unusual way. Over the past few months my wife and I have been praying even more earnestly for guidance and direction. Our desire is to be obedient and submit to His will. My prayer request is for Gods opening or closing a job opportunity in Arlington Texas. One of my concerns with this job hunting was the possibility of finding a place for my wife and me to fellowship in.   I received the call for my first interview for this job opening this morning. I checked the listings for Baptist Churches in Arlington. Much to my joy and surprise I found your church listed. I have read various Primitive Baptist articles and parts of some books. At the very least we would love to be able to attend some services and to see how the Lord would guide us in this whole matter.

My interview is for a computer programmer job with Texas Heath Hospital system (www.texashealth.org). This first interview will be over the phone on this coming Tuesday at 3:30 your time. If that goes well they will most likely fly me out for a personal interview.  It would mean a great deal to my wife and me if you would pray for us that the Lord’s will would be accomplished.

 Thank you very much!

Many of us have loved one who are serving in the US military overseas. Please remember to ask God to protect them and watch them as they daily place their lives on the line to protect our liberties. Even the liberty to voice our opposition to the war. Also ask God to help their families they have left back here at home.

Please continue to pray that God would grant repentance to this country. I do not have to tell everyone how bad of shape it is in and how far she has drifted from God.

Please remember to ask The good Lord to remove the bars to fellowship among the old Baptist churches. I know there are scriptural reasons sometimes for raising and keeping bars up. But when we ask someone why they do not fellowship another group and they can not tell you why, that is a problem. Let us ask our God for grace and humility that we may walk towards one another in a way that will please our Heavenly Father.
